It all started with a dream, the passion, and the drive to accomplish something great.
At Value Clothing, Inc., we're more than just a business; we're a family committed to making a difference.
Since Dr. Richard and Elaine Williams started our journey in Advance, North Carolina, in 1971, our mission has been clear: to reduce, reuse, and recycle. As a proud part of the Williams Companies, Inc. family, we've grown from humble beginnings in a 1-bedroom house in Advance, North Carolina, to a 90,000-square-foot facility in Salisbury, North Carolina, in 2005. We believe that every item has a second life, and by giving pre-loved goods a new purpose, we not only offer incredible value to our customers but also significantly contribute to a more sustainable planet. Our dedication to reduce, reuse, and recycle isn't just a motto; it's the foundation of everything we do, helping to keep countless items out of landfills and fostering a healthier environment for all.
Our commitment extends far beyond local communities. We strive to serve our communities right here in Salisbury and beyond, while also making a tangible difference in third-world countries. By giving usable goods a new lease on life, we support economic development and provide essential resources where they're needed most. This dual focus on local and global impact is a core part of our family's legacy and vision.
This philosophy of continuous improvement and diverse service underpins our entire operation, ensuring we consistently meet and exceed the needs of our clients while upholding our environmental principles.
Our Process: A Commitment to Responsibility
When we receive a trailer back from a thrift store, our team unloads it and performs an initial sort, separating clothing and household textiles from other usable items. The textiles are then baled and shipped to one of our customers' warehouses, where they undergo detailed sorting into numerous categories. These categorized items are then packaged and shipped to destinations where they are needed. For items deemed as unsellable used clothing, we ensure they have an end-of-life plan beyond the landfill. Depending on the condition, they are either processed into wiping cloths, recycled into new materials like insulation, or responsibly disposed of as a last resort.
Our success wouldn't be possible without the hard work and dedication of our skilled managers and employees across our diverse family of companies. We are incredibly grateful for their personal motivation to make our businesses thrive.
We hope you'll contact us to learn how we can serve your thrift store, no matter what your needs may be.
Join us in our mission to reduce, reuse, and recycle for a better tomorrow!
